Chris and Amber are siblings who are trapped in their birth house. Chris day by day plans an escape, while Amber only thinks of trying to take care of their father, Mark. 

When Chris begins to have dreams of running water and hears the sounds of creaking pipes, he gets hope that the blizzard will pass. Amber only sinks deeper into the belief that their situation will never change.

When she sees her mother, Amber is convinced their father was right in having them stay in the house. The rift between the two siblings is further solidified when Chris suggests letting their father die in order to stretch out their remaining rations.
